Why Pray?

January 5-February 9

What's the use of praying? As Christians, we are given the privilege and responsibility of communicating with the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. Yet many Christians neglect prayer. Join us for an ARISE! Grow opportunity in Faith Cafe, beginning January 5. In this six-part series, Dr. R.C. Sproul demonstrates that intimate communication with God is at the heart of a relationship with God. Faith Cafe meets at 9:15 and 10:30 am in Multi-B and new members are always welcome.

Weekly topics for Why Pray? include:

  • Class 1: How to Pray
  • Class 2: Adoration
  • Class 3: Confession
  • Class 4: The Lord's Prayer part 1
  • Class 5: The Lord's Prayer part 2
  • Class 6: Providence & Prayer: If God is sovereign, why pray?

I'd Like You If You Were More Like Me

Feb 16 - March 22

I'd Like You If You Were More Like Me is a study by John Ortberg is designed to help us have deeper relationships with God and with one another. Jesus told us to abide in Him and John told us that "since God loved us, we also ought to love one another" (1 John 4:11). We know that loving in actuality is a lot harder than it sounds, but this is the mandate for us as followers of Jesus.

This is a six-week study that includes a brief video each week along with time for discussion. Weekly topics for the study include:

  • Class 1: Around the Table
  • Class 2: Created for Connection
  • Class 3: Compassion and Commitment
  • Class 4: Walls and Cracks
  • Class 5: Wounds and Healing
  • Class 6: Real and Close

New participants are welcome throughout the series.
