Christmas Eve

“A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.”

- O Holy Night, John S. Dwight

December 24

Join Liberty Corner Church in celebrating the hope of Christmas and the Light that shines in the darkness. This year, we are offering three opportunities for worship: an outdoor Lessons and Carols Service, an online Christmas Eve Service, and Self-Guided Worship in the Sanctuary.

Lessons and Carols | 5 pm

Bundle up and gather on the church lawn, surrounded by the light of luminaries, for a service of lessons and carols. See the nativity scene and Bethlehem star, hear the story of Christmas told through scripture, sing your favorite carols, and light candles.

There is no need to register for this service. If the weather is questionable, please visit the website or social media for an update.

Online Christmas Eve Worship | 7 pm or after

Gather the family at home, light candles, and celebrate Christmas with a special online service. Experience beautiful music performed by Traditional and Contemporary ensembles, scripture read by members of the congregation, and a retelling of the Christmas story by the children and students.

The online service will be available at 7 pm or afterward at libertycorner.org and the Liberty Corner Church app.

Self-Guided Worship | 3-4:30 pm; 5:40–8 pm

In the decorated, candle-lit Sanctuary, we will offer live music and a written guide to consider the true meaning of Christmas. Come for a few minutes, or stay as long as you like. The Sanctuary will be open from 3 pm, close at 4:30 pm for the Lessons and Carols service, and will then reopen until 8 pm. Please wear a mask indoors and sit socially distanced from other groups. Hosts will be available to assist you.

Christmas Offering

This year the Christmas offering will be evenly distributed between the Hearts For Honduras School and Malawi Visions.

  • Hearts For Honduras School provides children of low economic resources in La Entrada, Honduras a safe haven, well-rounded education, nutritious daily meals, healthcare, and support. Learn more about Hearts for Honduras
  • Malawi Visions partners with Ministry of Hope to assist in running six Community Development Centers which minister to the physical and spiritual needs of orphan children in the remotest villages in Malawi. Learn more about Malawi Visions.
