Rise Against Hunger

Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church is opening our doors to fight hunger on February 29. We need your help! We are partnering with Rise Against Hunger to pack over 50,000 nutritious meals that will be distributed worldwide. Bring the family and invite your friends to this intergenerational, hands-on event.

About Rise Against Hunger

Rise Against Hunger is driven by the vision of a world without hunger. Their mission is to end hunger in our lifetime by building resilience, self-sufficiency, and empowerment in communities worldwide. Rise Against Hunger approach to ending hunger includes:

  • Nourishing Lives: Packaging and distributing millions of nutritious meals around the world. The meals are used as a tool to change lives by promoting education, improving students’ health and nutrition, addressing gender inequalities, stimulating economic growth, and fighting child labor.

  • Crisis Response: When access to food, wages and market systems are destroyed in the wake of emergencies, Rise Against Hunger works through a network of in-country partners to address these needs.

  • Empowering Communities: Rise Against Hunger bolsters agricultural production and incomes through programs promoting improved agricultural methods, business skills, and market access.

About the Meal Packing Event

The meal packing event is a hands-on way for volunteers age four and over to make an impact. A Rise Against Hunger leader will guide and encourage us through the process. Volunteers will sanitize hands and wear hair nets and gloves. While listening to upbeat music, volunteers will be arranged at different stations to measure and add meal ingredients to bags, weigh meals, seal the bags, run meals between stations, count meals, and pack boxes.
