your donations are funding the renovation and equipping of a music room in a building that was donated to greatly expand the reach of this Christian-based after school program and safe haven for children and youth in Jersey City. Renovating this very old building has proven to take more time than anticipated, with delays working through architectural plans and navigating the planning and zoning boards. It is expected to be complete and operational during first quarter of next year.

your donations funded the purchase of bibles in Chichewa, the native language.

Youth evangelism teams are now equipped with these bibles to spread the Gospel.

While the Chichewa bibles were purchased in Malawi, the remainder of the Christmas offering proceeds are funding the purchase of early reader bibles and youth study bibles in English. For success in school, it is important for children to begin learning English at an early age. The early reader bibles will enable that while they learn God’s word.

The books in English will be shipped in early 2025 due to a change in the shipping method and schedule for a big cost savings.

Hearts For Honduras
Director Paty shares updates to Hearts For Honduras school including the construction of a new building which houses a  library and science lab for biology and chemistry. The school has contracted a Christian licensed psychologist to serve the students and their families, and the academic internship program is thriving. New City Kids mission is loving kids for change to create a community of spiritual, leadership, academic, and musical development. Through after school programming, New City Kids offers children a safe place to feel valued and loved and develop their skills, talents, and hopes for the future.

• Public School 34 in the Greenville neighborhood of Jersey City

• 100% of high school seniors graduated and headed to college last year
• We just finished our 2022 College Tour
• We held the graduation ceremony outdoors. This will now be an annual event!

Malawi Visions partners with Ministry of Hope in Malawi, Africa to bring hope to orphan children. Malawi Visions develops sustainable project to empower the people of Malawi including solar power, community gardens, libraries/media centers, a teen internship program and more.

These programs are impacting the lives of students like Boniface, who improved his performance in school through the after-school program. Boniface has new-found hope for his future and a desire to continue his education.

• Trains and commissions prayer partners who pray for our pastors, leaders, congregation, ministries, and weekly service
• Offers prayer opportunities such as 3-day fast, 24-hour prayer vigil, weekly prayer group, and more
• Organizes an annual church-wide prayer conference to build up our prayer lives and practices.

This month, we're highlighting discipleship and sharing opportunities to grow in your faith.

Journey explores your personal faith journey, what it means to be a covenant partner (member) of Liberty Corner Church, and ways to connect with others and grow your faith. Journey is a series of classes and the participant may choose to join the church following the series.

The next Journey series includes a retreat on Saturday, October 16 from 9 am to noon and a class on Sunday, October 24 from 11:45-2 pm. Both will meet in Multi-B. Childcare upon request. Registration is required by October 12; contact Anne Havrilla.

This month, our ministry focus is adult discipleship. Liberty Corner Church offers a variety of opportunities to grow your faith through study and fellowship. This week, we're highlighting Faith Cafe, a class offered twice each Sunday at 9 am and 10:30 am in Multi-B.

Faith Cafe studies a variety of topics and often coincides with the sermon series to extend the conversation. We are using Randy Alcorn’s book, “Heaven,” in our current study on Heaven. New participants always welcome!

The music program at Hearts For Hondura began in 2012 with music class for the school. The program expanded to providing instruments and lessons to students. The pandemic has added challenges, but Hearts For Honduras music program continued with lessons and classes online.

This month, we have been highlighting the ministry of worship volunteers, serving both upfront and behind the scenes each Sunday. This week, we celebrate communion servers and prayer partners.
 
Our dedicated communion servers set up and serve communion on the first Sunday of each month. We will be returning to weekly communion in Contemporary Worship in the coming months, and would love additional volunteers. Serving communion is a meaningful way to connect with your sisters and brothers in Christ by sharing in the Sacrament. On September 19 following Contemporary Worship, we will hold a short training for those interested in serving communion. Anyone who is a church member can serve. If you are interested, please contact Diana Dezuzio.
 
Do you know that each Sunday prayer partners pray during worship, or that prayer partners are available to pray with and for you on communion Sundays? While the in-person prayer has been in flux due to COVID, we are scheduling for the fall. If you feel called to pray either behind the scenes or in person with those requesting prayer, please contact Sue Grubb.

Continuing our mission partner spotlight, we are highlighting Pause Ministries.

Pause Ministries exists to offer hope, healing, and restoration, one person at at time.  At Pause Ministries, you are encouraged to take a break, put things in perspective, and reflect on God's direction in your life. Pause offers 5-day intensive workshops, groups for men, women, and couples, as well as one-to-one conversations.

Pause was founded in 2011 by Liberty Corner Church member Dan Bove with the goal to create a safe space for men to heal in a supportive, Christ-centered environment. In 2019, Pause Ministries expanded to serve women.

The Children's Corner (TCC) is a caring and learning center for children six-weeks through 5th grade. From daycare to preschool to after school care, programs are designed to stimulate learning in a fun and safe environment.

On June 23, The Children's Corner celebrated commencement with 17 students moving on to Kindergarten and 1st grade. This past year TCC met the challenges of a pandemic and continued to provide a quality Christian education in a safe, loving environment. 

TCC is licensed by the State of New Jersey and accredited by Christian Schools International. Each classroom maintains a child-to-teacher ratio that meets or exceeds state requirements and the beautiful campus includes a library, garden, two enclosed playgrounds, and a full-size gymnasium. Advance security measures are in place and strictly followed to ensure you child's safety.

VBS Sports Camp is our favorite week of summer! Sports Camp provides the opportunity to talk about God with kids from age 4 through 5th grade in a unique way.

Campers love playing sports, developing new friendships, getting to know the adult volunteers, and bonding with others in faith. Sports Camp changes lives for Christ by developing strong community with peers, families, and volunteers. Most of our middle school and high school volunteers were once campers themselves and have returned to serve and share the joy of Sports Camp with the next generation.

We look forward to VBS Sports Camp 2021 from July 12-16. It's not too late to register or volunteer. Learn more. 

Salt & Light Student Ministry partners with parents to inspire students to be followers of Christ. Our vision is simple, but fundamental. We seek to be true leaders and disciples of Jesus Christ by being the light and salt of this world.

"You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 5:13-16, ESV

This summer middle school and high school student have the opportunity to bless others through Share, a summer mission project. From July 26-29, students will meet each day from 9 am-3 pm and will engage in a variety of service projects, games, lunch and fellowship. The cost is $50/student. Give Love Away

Family Ministries partners with parents to help children develop a faith in Jesus Christ that lasts a lifetime.  From infants through high school graduates, Family Ministries offers faith growing experiences, milestone celebrations, and resources for parents at each stage of growth.  Learn more about each stage in the Family Ministries Plan.

Serving is at the heart of Liberty Corner Kids. Monthly Give Love Away projects provide the opportunity for 3rd-5th graders to engage directly in service, working alongside peers and mentor adults. Watch the video to learn more about Give Love Away.

Malawi Visions is a year-around projects ministry. Church members, neighbors, friends, and community members serve on Malawi Visions work teams. Projects include a variety of tasks including sewing skirts and shorts; collecting, sorting, and packing books; fabricating light fixtures, solar panel frames, and battery boxes; refurbishing sewing machines; constructing shipping crates, and more!  Malawi Visions teams are not JUST work -- they enjoy fun, laughter, and fellowship, too!  To see how you can participate, contact info@malawivisions.com. 

Malawi Visions book and library programs have been a success. However, only 40% of Malawian children complete 8th grade and 10% complete high school.

In 2019, Ministry of Hope's Daniel Moyo traveled to the States to train with New City Kids, which has been successfully empowering at-risk teens through their internship programs for over 20 years. Upon returning to Malawi, Daniel and Milca initiated the Teen Life Internship Program for Malawi Visions. Eighteen teen interns receive leadership training while still in high school and work with 120 elementary school children in after school programs in math, English, science, and music.
