Do you know that Martin Luther King Jr's birthday, January 20,  is the National Day of Service?  As part of the National Day of Service, the Go Team is collecting items for the 70 homeless veterans who live in the VA Hospital complex at Lyons.

You can participate in several ways.

Donate Items

Gently used, in good condition, MEN'S:
  • Winter coats and Jackets
  • Long pants and jeans
  • Sweaters and long sleeve shirts
  • Long sleeve T-shirts
And NEW MEN'S:
  • Socks, underwear and undershirts
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Bodywash
  • Shampoo
  • Shaving cream
  • Disposable razors
  • Deodorant
Collection bins will be available from January 5 to 19 near entrances to Center Court, the Sanctuary, and Door 5.

Write a Note

The Go Team is encouraging folks to write notes to the veterans thanking them for their service and perhaps including inspiring Bible verses. Note cards will be available near the collection bins.
